I know, I know. You’re probably thinking why did I spell it out like that, huh? Well, last week or so I posted pictures of my first time trying a macaron from The Sweet Lobby to my Instagram, but because of space and time I didn’t explain my “aha moments” that preceded my first bite. So, here’s the back story.
One of my favorite fashion bloggers is Song of Style who posts a lot of macarons on her Instagram. The arrangement of assorted colorful macarons on her page were soooo attractive to me, I had to inquire more about this fancy Oreo. Well, actually, I was confused about the spelling and its pronunciation more. If this is a macaron, what is the coconut chocolate cookie thing?? To confuse me more, when you search for a macaron, you will also see it spelled macaroon, and even the images are inconsistent. I’m like WHICH ONE IS IT??!?!?!?!?!?!?!? They look different with two different spellings AND pronunciations I thought. Oh, I was gonna find out for myself. Can’t be walking’ around sounding clueless if I’m to become an expert foodie 🙂 And so I did. After a few office debates and web searches later – I got it.
Ladies and Gentlemen, let’s settle this once and for all shall we?
I was hell-bent on finding a bakery that sold m-a-c-a-r-o-n-s. A friend of mines spoke very highly of The Sweet Lobby and after ordering a custom dozen for my birthday, and swooning over each delicious and perfect one, I knew I had to try my first macaron from their too.
And so I did.
Last week.
One word:
AMAHZING!

#picstitch of The Sweet Lobby’s Classic Box. Six macarons of your choice. Pictured here from L to R: The Red Hot Chili Chocolate, Chocolate, Vanilla, Green Tea, Lavender Vanilla and Raspberry.
I did, I ate all six. Not in one day though. Don’t judge me. I highly recommend checking out The Sweet Lobby in Eastern Market (DC). You will NOT be sorry. Their selection of macarons is impressive, and their cupcakes are too. Yum!
PS – Don’t let your spell checker or dumb auto correct change the spelling either. They are not the same.
Xx
