Heyyyyyyyyy!!! Guess who turned 33 this month?!
Still don’t know?
Really?
Ok, I’ll just tell you: Me!
These last couple of weeks have been kinda busy but as I promised for 2017, my blog is a priority.
So, what have I been up to?
The usual LOL – eating, buying stuff because it’s cool, talking to old couples at the bar [really cool story coming up in one of my next Masterdate posts btw], tutoring, civic meetings, county budget meetings, anddddddd turning 33!!!
Can I just say, this is one of those years that kinda sounds weird when I say my age, nevertheeeeless, it’s an honor and privilege to celebrate another year.
Below are some quick photo recaps of my birthday weekend. It was low key and perfect.
And I guess, while I’m here I’ll just let you know that I – against my will but my clothes were startin’ to feel a lil’ too tight for my sexy – am doing a 12-week weight loss challenge which started yesterday. What does that mean? Well, my food chronicles will be different for the next 12 weeks because I won’t be going out.
I’ll be cooking and all that BLAH, blah. Meal prepping nonsense.
And I apologize in advance for my hangry, borderline b*tchy, Diary posts about how hungry I am but my clothes fit.
Anywho, I worked backwards on this post. Because I started getting into birthday mode when my parents gave me my gift early 🙂
So here we go:
March 13th
“The most important day”
Went to happy hour with my coworkers.
Came home and made myself one of my favorite desserts: A brownie with ice cream and watched the movie, Lion.
Oh, and waited for snow.
Sidebar: Lion is a fantastic, tear jerking movie. Very good and informative.
My mom makes a big deal about blowing out a candle and making a wish every year – so it’s kind of a habit now. My wish was short and sweet.
Sike, it was long and detailed but I think God got it lol.
March 12th
“Brunch at Marcus/MGM”
I love Chef Marcus’ restaurant in Harlem New York, Red Rooster. Since the MGM Resort and Casino at the National Harbor in MD opened, I’ve been wanting to try his new spot there. So my parents took me to brunch and yes, I walked around taking pictures.
What’s my take on his brunch? It’s OK. Decor is nice but as a die hard bruncher, I wasn’t impressed 😦 – that really pained me to say. I wanted to love it. The dessert was bomb dot com tho’. I do plan to try dinner or just the bar food next time before I just rule it out as a no go.
March 11th
Fiorella at the National Harbor
It was so.good.
Went with my cousin and her BF. It was fun.
I must say their birthday treat is just cute. I mean, the cotton candy around the cup is just cute.
The chicken pasta is probably one of the best I’ve had and it was only $19 for authentic, freash pasta. #winner
March 8th
My Dad kept saying I was 33 before my actual birthday, so I said well in that case, I’ll take my gift now.
I did not open the card until my actual day, I’m a mushball like that. The card means just as much to me as the gift. Nonetheless, gift opening never gets old.
We’ll see what this year brings for me!!
Shoutout to all my Pisces. Until next year.
You got this 12 weeks! I have high expectations for brunch, too. Sorry it wasn’t so great.
Happy birthday! Big ups!
