Latest Fav: Konjac Sponge

My bad guys. I almost forgot to share one of my favorite recent purchases with you:

The Konjac Sponge, which I definitely pronounce, cognac. Whoops.

It. Has. Transformed. My. Skin.

As I’ve shared before – I am the proud owner of acne prone skin. Oh yay :/

My skin is extra sensitive. Oily. Hyper pigmented. Weird at times. Blah blah, all of that.

When it comes to my skin [my face in particular] and keeping it looking its best, I want to try everything. And besides Accutane; I think I have tried it all. Cleansers, Retinoids, Antibiotics, BC. You name it.  PS – I’ll be sharing skin tips for managing acne without solely relying on the need of a dermatologist from time to time [although if you have a good one that doesn’t just want to prescribe presribe prescribe – keep them.]

For me, as of right now I only consult a Derm when needed or just for a check up. Depends.

Anywho, back to my story.

I prefer to manage my skin and work on keeping it clear, glowy, supple and healthy on my own.  When you have acne prone skin especially, and really any skin type, you have to maintain it, you can’t be lazy. And you have to listen to it.

Before long, you’ll start to know what will and won’t work for your skin.

They all start with the basics: drinking lots of water, a good, effective cleanser and an exfoliant/cleansing mechanism.

My favorite cleanser is probably Philosophy’s  Fresh Start Cleansing Duo.  It’s amazing and it works.

I’m not a fan of using washcloths on my face. Usually I’ll use cotton pads or my DDF Cleansing Brush, however, I wanted something else.

What a hypebeast wants; a hypebeast finds.

Through random searching and clicking online one day via beauty blogs and articles – I stumbled on the konjac sponge on Amazon.  I did not buy this popular Korean beauty staple there. I actually found mine at TJ Maxx in the beauty aisle for about $5.

As one that listens to her face and skin – I recently noticed that I’ve been using my konjac sponge for about one month now. I rubbed my skin this morning after it dried from washing, and wow, just wow.  Super smooth, clear, cooperative skin [and usually as I approach that “ya know” time – my skin be straight trippin’ boo. ]

But nope. Calm, smooth skin over here.

I plan to buy a few more sponges and keep them on hand since it’s recommended to replace monthly.

Let me know your favorite skin care products and such.

If anything changes from using my konjac sponge – I’ll update this post.

I’ll end with this. My mom is a beauty manager for Estee Lauder [if you follow my Instagram then you know, she looks very good for her age, like super good – don’t tell her I told you but she’s nearing 60]. Besides being blessed with good genes, I’ve always seen her take care of her skin using all of Estee Lauder’s products [which are pricey I admit but I do have some favs that are worth the investment].  Moisturizers, serums, eye creams are a must, and the sooner the better she always says.

I know many women say that a bad hair day or good hair day changes everything, but for me –  it’s all about my face.

Best face forward.

Hi! My name is Cheryl but my friends call me Bloom. I'm a 34 year old true, old soul millennial who decided to start a blog about becoming an adult, a woman, foodie and dating. I love self help books, oldies and talking to people about life. I like to laugh and tell jokes. I like to buy "sh!t" as my dad says that I usually don't need but what girl doesn't?! Thanks for stopping by. Come back any time.
