*New hypebeast buy* Alert!
#1 – Mast Chocolate.
Confession: I bought an expensive chocolate bar. In retrospect it was unnecessary [ya know, because I’m on this 12-week weight loss challenge ]. But at the time – I picked up two, no hesitation. So how did $4 mini chocolate bars end up in my basket you ask? Goooodd question. *shoulder shrug*
If I haven’t told you yet, since we’re friends and all now, I’m a chocoholic. Like “2 Legit 2 Quit.”
The backstory. About 2 weeks ago I was in Whole Foods (WFs) picking up a few things I only buy from there ’cause you can’t buy fruits and certain meats from just anywhere, and look what what was in the middle of the aisle:
Mast Chocolate Bar Display.
Exactly! Now —
What you probably see: A display of chocolate.
What I saw: OMG chocolate but look at the cute packaging!
I’m a sucker for cute packaging. *this statement also applies to my dating life and guys in cute packaging. Dramatically rolls eyes and neck* that’s a whole ‘nother post smh
Anyways, I bought it. Actually, I bought two. One dark chocolate with sea salt and one dark chocolate with olive oil. The dark chocolate and olive oil was sooooo good!! and it was 70% cacao 🙂 Ya know, for the serotonin and cardiovascular benefits *side eye emoji*
I’m not sure if this brand is in WFs permanently or they were just trying it out. But I’ll look for it next time, though the $4 price tag for a mini size candy bar takes some considering.
Nah, I’m lying lol. I’d buy it again.
#2 – Flake Away Body Polish
Ok, this was a serious buy.
I first spotted Soap and Glory’s Flake Away Body Polish maybe a year ago at Sephora. Again, nice packaging. But I didn’t buy anything *willpower*.
So why now?
Well, I guess I’ll start with another backstory. I’m big on exfoliating year round but especially in the summer. It’s just a thing I have to do to keep my skin smooth and blemish free. And to prepare for summer, I figured I’d start early. So queue my hunt for a good exfoliator.
I can be a product junkie for all things hair and beauty [face/body], and I like to try everything, especially products that get a lot of buzz. My usual go-to body scrubs are Bliss Sugar Scrub, Origins Gentle Dermabrasion, Dermadoctor KP Duty (pricey but good in winter because it has AHAs), and a more affordable but equally good scrub, Tree Hut from Wal-Mart.
After a quick Google search I found a good list on www.totalbeauty.com, and for some reason this brand stuck out to me. I purchased my scrub at Walgreens for I think $15. Expensive, perhaps but hey.
First impressions I really like it. It smells great. And most importantly, it seems to be working so far. Usually, I’m a bit hesitant with overly scented things for my skin, but this one is a winner. It’s only been a little over a week since I’ve been using it so I can’t say I’ve noticed anything dramatic yet in terms of fading hyperpigmentation or unclogging pores. I’m going to be patient and finish this jar before I give my final verdict, and let you know if I’ll repurchase or not. Which is also a first because usually I don’t wait to finish some products. Like after two weeks, if my pimple isn’t gone, I haven’t dropped 4 pants sizes, or I’m not rich, I’m on to the next thing lol. *half kidding*
Please comment below and let me know your favorite body scrubs and exfoliators or how you prepare your skin for summer. Not that I’m going to buy it –__–
Anywho.
Until I buy something else in cute packaging but not really necessary lol [as in I already did, so look out for my May post]
Talk to you later!
