There’s A Whole Flower In My Lipstick!

Usually that’s how it happens. There I am minding my own business, scrolling my Instagram feed or reading my favorite blogs to keep me updated on what’s new and now (shoutout to Refinery29 and The Zoe Report), and boom! O-M-G! What is this?! Off goes that little voice in my head that says something similar to life is short, buy the shoes, except this particular time-the voice said forget cute! There’s a whole flower in the damn lipstick! Is that a chrysanthemum?! It is. A real one. Annnddd, how did I not know about Winky Lux?!! Winky who? Ordering their Flower Balm lipstick was an easy buy. It sells itself. Then I saw their Matcha Lip Balm *also added to cart* I mean I can’t just buy one thing right? Hey. I know myself. As the title of this section on my blog admittedly says – I’m well aware that I buy stuff that I really don’t need just because it’s cute. This purchase is filed as such. The cool thing that I did read …

Two For One

*New hypebeast buy* Alert! #1 – Mast Chocolate. Confession:  I bought an expensive chocolate bar.  In retrospect it was unnecessary [ya know, because I’m on this 12-week weight loss challenge ]. But at the time – I picked up two, no hesitation.   So how did $4 mini chocolate bars end up in my basket you ask? Goooodd question. *shoulder shrug* If I haven’t told you yet, since we’re friends and all now, I’m a chocoholic. Like “2 Legit 2 Quit.”   The backstory.  About 2 weeks ago I was in Whole Foods (WFs) picking up a few things I only buy from there ’cause you can’t buy fruits and certain meats from just anywhere, and look what what was in the middle of the aisle: Mast Chocolate Bar Display. Exactly! Now — What you probably see: A display of chocolate. What I saw: OMG chocolate but look at the cute packaging! I’m a sucker for cute packaging. *this statement also applies to my dating life and guys in cute packaging. Dramatically rolls eyes and neck* that’s a …

Latest Fav: Konjac Sponge

My bad guys. I almost forgot to share one of my favorite recent purchases with you: The Konjac Sponge, which I definitely pronounce, cognac. Whoops. It. Has. Transformed. My. Skin. As I’ve shared before – I am the proud owner of acne prone skin. Oh yay My skin is extra sensitive. Oily. Hyper pigmented. Weird at times. Blah blah, all of that. When it comes to my skin [my face in particular] and keeping it looking its best, I want to try everything. And besides Accutane; I think I have tried it all. Cleansers, Retinoids, Antibiotics, BC. You name it.  PS – I’ll be sharing skin tips for managing acne without solely relying on the need of a dermatologist from time to time [although if you have a good one that doesn’t just want to prescribe presribe prescribe – keep them.]  For me, as of right now I only consult a Derm when needed or just for a check up. Depends. Anywho, back to my story. I prefer to manage my skin and work on …

Beauty Buys: Face + Brows + Hair

Hey guys, back again with some beauty buys! First, let me just say, it’s been a loonngggg time since I went to Ulta. I specifically went there today to buy ONE thing: Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Rose Water. Rose water is alllllll the rave right now as I’m sure you’ve heard.  So of course, I had to buy this $7  “dream in a bottle” spray every beauty blogger is loving as a skin hydrator and anything else I wanna use it for – like in my hair? Hey, that’s what it said. But as usual, I have to walk around the entire store and see what’s new and has cute packaging, thanks Redken 😏. Picked up the brow Queen, Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Brow Wiz Pencil, and Redken’s One United Multi Benefit Treatment for my hair. I’ll let you guys know how I like them. Random: I have no Ulta points. So mad smh.

Tomatoes Paper Mask + Clinique

Like most women,  I go to the store to get intentional items  – hair stuff, toothpaste, toilet paper, food. BUT there is always room for a couple of “ohhhh I want to try this”things. So last week while in the store, I was just walking down the aisle minding my own business, and saw the Yes To Tomatoes Paper Masks (it’s cheaper at Walmart btw). Now, *queue the hypebeast* – I only bought it because it’s a paper mask, and I saw it on tv and had to try it. Maybe my head is too big because it didn’t fit right lol so i had to rip a few corners for a custom fit. But I made it work, and overall the outcome was great actually so I’ll pick up a few more to try. The Clinique Sonic System was a gift from mom (love that lady).  I’m a big fan of facial cleansing brushes – esp for my acne peeps *oh fun* (start with the soft brush first).  I still love my DDF  but I heard the …
